Global Campus
Global Digital Campus is an app that will act as a digital extension to existing campuses and will create virtual spaces where students will remotely gather together to converse and connect with each other.
OUR
INTERFACE
01
PROFILE PAGE
This app embraces diversity which includes gender, cultural, and language differences, and the services are inclusive of gender non-binary and LGBTQ+ people. Therefore, the profile settings have options for users to display or not to show certain personal information.

Users can include tags which helps others to identify their personalities and hobbies. Right after signing up for the app, users will go through a personality test and choose the tags they want to display.
03
SIGN UP
Global Campus App authorises students from campuses and alumni only. Users are required to register with their current or past student IDs.
02
MAP
Global Campus aims to include campuses from all over the world, therefore users will be able to visit different campuses to interact and converse with the students there.
The layout of the map will be:
World Map—Continents—Country—Province—City—University/College Campuses—Building—Rooms
Function
TIME
Global Campus App runs 24/7.

MILESTONE
There will be tasks/milestones students need to complete in order to gain access to more functions.
Ex. “Make ten new friends” -- after completing this task, students will be able to unlock the Text Box function where they can send messages to each other.

VOICE CIRCLE
There will be a “voice circle” surrounding the figure/user on the map where a user can adjust the diameter of the circle larger or smaller. When joining a conversation, users have to stand within a circle in order to hear the voice of the speaker.
For example, if a user wants to speak with one user only, both users have to stand in each other’s voice circle. If a user wants to speak with ten other users, the user needs to enlarge the circle to be able to include ten other people standing in the circle all at once.

VIDEO CHAT
Once joining the voice circle, users can enter into the video chat interface. What’s different from a zoom meeting is that the Global Campus app has a 3D environment where when users are video chatting with each other, they are standing in the real location of the virtual environment. They can see what’s going on around them including outside of the voice circle, and they can walk out of the circle anytime to leave a conversation/video chat.

MAP
Users are free to navigate on the map and go to different campuses around the world.

SETTING
Users are able to only chat and see their friends in the virtual environment if they don’t wish to associate with or be seen by strangers.

EVENT
There will be virtual events held on the app such as online parties, guest speeches, virtual career fair, and clubs and any other activities students can find on campus.
Prototype
Future
Plan
Global Campus App has the potential to be one of the largest social media platforms in the world.
We wish that in the future not only college and university students will use the app but we will likely develop a separate platform for secondary schools, and even continuing education institutions.
We welcome sponsors from different businesses and education-related organisations to support and integrate a part or service of their business in our platform, and ultimately building a complete virtual community for our students around the world. We will, of course, expand the app’s functionality and usability, and at the same time welcome any feedback from our users.
